Mother’s Work

Dear Horrid, Horrible Troll who Took Over My Son’s Body for Two Hours Today,

Thank you so much for finally returning back under that rock. I was growing tired of the screaming and crying over putting a basket of laundry away. He is now calm and happy, albeit with the laundry still undone.

Please do not think of returning after dinner.

I’m always so glad to hear that other parents deal with the exact same issues. We’re dealing with this issue now and my take on it is, “fine then, I won’t wash your clothes, that way you won’t have to complain about putting clean clothes away.”

Yes, I love that philosophy. It’s also why my kids pack their lunches and clean their own bathroom. In my happy little world, they will thank me for this someday. Till then, pass the Excedrin.
